Calendar of public holidays across EU Member States
The calendar of Public Holidays in the EU Member States for 2025 was published in the Official Journal of the European Union (C series) on 20 December 2024.
Officially, Romania is the country with the most public holidays in the European Union (17), which fall as follows: 1-2 January (New Year), 6 January (Feast of the Epiphany), 7 January (Feast of St. John the Baptist), 24 January (Day of the Unification of the Romanian Principalities), 18-21 April (Orthodox Easter 2025), 1 May (International Labour Day), 1 June (International Children’s Day), 8 June (Pentecost), 9 June (Second Day of Pentecost), 15 August (Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary), 30 November (Feast of St. Andrew), 1 December (Romanian National Day), 25 December (Christmas Day) and 26 December (Second Day of Christmas).
